The idea of making gold slivovitz first came about as a result of the Jelnek brothers experience with brandy production, which they started in 1923 in collaboration with the French cognac maker Denis Mouni. The 10 years it spends ageing in oak casks give it its gold colour, an aroma close to that of cognac, and a harmonious fruity flavour with
