Baule chair vit målning they are our constant companionsHand carved, vintage African chair from Baule tribe. The Baul chair is from the Ivory Coast in Africa. The chairs of the Djimini and Baul tribes have a typical design, low with a vertical back. Traditionally reserved for members of the Poro society, these chairs are offered by wives or female relatives to men after initiation. The austere rigidity of the chairs straight back was a sign of their new social standing and dignity. Two chairs in storage.
