It is a front seam, fixed bale WWII shell. The exterior shell is in good condition with original paint and only a few small dings. There is a private rank stripe at the front, hand painted over previous insignia. The chinstraps are OD 3 with brass hardware. These are not for a paratrooper helmet i. e. no snaps. The Westinghouse paratrooper liner was repainted for use post WWII.
